Areal Flood Watch

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Oregon and Washington... including the following
areas... in Oregon... central Oregon... East Columbia river gorge
of Oregon... east slopes of the Oregon Cascades and north central
Oregon. In Washington... east slopes of the Washington Cascades and
Simcoe Highlands. In Washington... eastern Columbia River gorge
of Washington... Kittitas Valley and Yakima Valley.

* Through Monday afternoon

* moderate to heavy rainfall along the Cascades will lead to
rising creeks... streams and rivers. Precipitation amounts of 3
to 5 inches are expected along the Oregon Cascade crest with 2
to 3 inches of precipitation along the Washington Cascade
crest. Snow levels will rise to over 6000 feet by Sunday
afternoon over Oregon with snow levels near 4500 feet for the
east slopes of the Washington Cascades

* small creeks and streams will start to rise late tonight with
the larger rivers seeing substantial rises on Sunday. The ground
has been saturated by previous storms over the past week and
most of the rain is expected to runoff into streams and creeks.
Most of the large river are not expected to flood... but the
small creeks and streams could see minor flooding... especially
Sunday as moderate rain and snow melt are expected to occur.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor the latest forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.





High Wind Warning

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until noon PST Sunday...

A High Wind Warning remains in effect until noon PST Sunday.

* Timing: winds will increase through the evening with the
strongest winds during the early morning hours on Sunday. Winds
will decrease towards noon Sunday.

* Winds: sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts to 60 mph.

* Impacts: sudden wind gusts will make traveling difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. Loose objects...
including Holiday decorations... may suddenly become airborne.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning is issued when sustained winds are expected
to be 40 mph or greater with gusts in excess of 58 mph. These
winds can easily toss around loose objects and down large tree
limbs and power lines. Those venturing outdoors should use
extreme caution and be alert for flying debris. Driving may also
be difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. For
