... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Thursday afternoon through
Thursday evening...

The National Weather Service in Elko has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of east central Nevada... north
central Nevada... northeast Nevada and south central Nevada...
including the following areas... in east central Nevada... White
Pine County. In north central Nevada... northern Lander County
and northern Eureka County and southern Lander County and
southern Eureka County. In northeast Nevada... northern Elko
County... Ruby Mountains/East Humboldt Range... south central
Elko County... southeastern Elko County and southwestern Elko
County. In south central Nevada... northeastern Nye County and
northwestern Nye County.

* From Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening

* scattered to numerous slow-moving thunderstorms will produce
locally heavy rainfall.

* Areas most prone to flash flooding include small creeks and
streams in and near the higher terrain, near any burn scars, and
normally dry washes. Rock slides and debris/water flows over
roadways are possible. Low lying areas, where most roads are,
will be susceptible to flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

Heavy rain u0.00 inch, reported by public.


            Heavy rain caused minor flooding in and around Montello.
            Radar estimates around 0.60 to 0.90 inches of rain fell.

15 miles NNE of Tuscarora, Elko County.

Hail e1.00 inch, reported by dept of highways.


            Hail covered the ground and was found around one to one
            and one half hours later.

15 miles NNE of Tuscarora, Elko County.

Flash flood, reported by dept of highways.


            Ndot reported a mud slide across the Road at Chicken
            Creek Summit. Ndot sending equipment to clear the Road.





07/30/2014 0345 PM

3 miles WSW of Halleck, Elko County.

Flash flood, reported by newspaper.


            Elko daily newspaper relayed report of flash flooding on
            Elburz Road. Called and spoke with spotter. 3 feet of
            water flowing across the Road with debris. Road damaged
            and fence destroyed.
