The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
east central Larimer County in north central Colorado...

* until 845 PM MDT Tuesday

* at 242 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain over BUckhorn Mountain. The rain was nearly stationary.
Up to one inch of rain may have already fallen in the High Park
burn area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... BUckhorn
Mountain... Poudre Park and Mishawaka. This replaces the warning
issued earlier for the High Park burn area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause
extensive and severe flooding of creeks... streams... roads and
culverts in the High Park burn area. Some areas affected include Rist
Canyon... BUckhorn Creek... Redstone canyon... stove prairie... and the
poudre canyon especially gulches draining across Highway 14. Severe
debris flows can be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may
be washed away in places. If you encounter flood waters... climb to
safety.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life threatening flooding of
creeks... roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger Rockslides... mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain... especially in and around these areas.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 315 PM MDT for
northern Larimer County...

At 212 PM MDT... a thunderstorm producing heavy rain was located 9
miles east of Virginia Dale... or 22 miles southwest of
Cheyenne... and is stationary. Up to four inches of rain may have
already fallen. Although the storms have moved to the south and east
of the warning area... flash flooding is still expected.

Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of northern
Larimer County... northeast of Virginia Dale near the Wyoming border.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Boxelder creek...
spottlewood creek... Sand Creek... Rawhide creek... deadman creek... Coal
Creek and South Branch Boxelder creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. Please
report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do
so safely.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
central Larimer County in north central Colorado...

* until 430 PM MDT

* at 132 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain near BUckhorn Mountain. The rain is moving northeast at
5 mph. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen just west of High
Park burn area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
Excessive rainfall over the warning area will cause mud slides
near steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of
rock... mud... vegetation and other loose materials.

* Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of central
Larimer County in the High Park burn area.

This includes the following streams and drainages... BUckhorn Creek...
Cache la poudre river... sheep creek... Pendergrass creek... South Fork
Cache la poudre river and eld creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Heavy rainfall will cause flash flooding of creeks... streams... roads
and culverts in the High Park burn area. Some areas affected include
Rist Canyon... BUckhorn Creek... Redstone canyon... stove prairie... and
gulches draining into the poudre canyon along Highway 14. Rock
slides or debris flows can also be expected across roads in the burn
area.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

developing thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen south
of Fort Collins.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
southern Fort Collins... Greeley... northeastern Loveland...
Windsor... Evans... Johnstown... Milliken... Severance... Platteville...
Hudson... La Salle... Keenesburg... Gilcrest... Timnath... Prospect
Valley and Milton Reservoir.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Wednesday
afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Colorado... east central Colorado... north
central Colorado and northeast Colorado. The watch includes
areas from the Front Range mountains and Mosquito Range eastward
to Weld... Morgan... Washington and Lincoln counties.

* Through Wednesday afternoon

* widespread showers and thunderstorms will produce 1 to 3 inches
of rain this afternoon through Wednesday. Some thunderstorms may
be stationary or redevelop over the same places and produce
even higher rainfall amounts over smaller areas.

* Flash flooding of low lying areas... creeks and streams is likely
to occur in several locations this afternoon and evening. Rock
and mud slides are also likely in the foothills. If you live in
flood prone areas or will be traveling... stay alert to the
latest warnings and be prepared for rapidly rising water
levels.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Be prepared to evacuate low lying areas and move to higher ground
should flooding develop or a warning be issued. Be aware of the
flooding danger today... stay out of flooded areas and do not drive
on flooded roads.
