to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

Special Statement

Statement as of 3:35 AM MDT on July 28, 2014

Expires 6:15 PM EDT on July 28, 2014

... Heavy rain from showers and thunderstorms possible this afternoon
through Wednesday...

There is the potential of very heavy rainfall across eastern Utah
and western Colorado this afternoon through Wednesday as deep
monsoonal moisture spreads over the area. The heaviest rainfall is
expected over southeast Utah and southwest Colorado this afternoon
and evening. The chance for heavy rainfall increases and becomes
more widespread across all of eastern Utah and western Colorado
Tuesday afternoon and evening as a stronger disturbance moves
through the area. Storms will be slow moving so localized
flooding will be possible. Normally dry washes and creek beds
could flow and create running water across low-lying roads.
Localized debris flows or Falling Rocks will also be possible in
steep terrain areas susceptible to runoff problems.

Please report any heavy rain... flooding issues... or severe weather
issues to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction. For
additional information... check out the online weather briefing
available on our web site at http://www.Weather.Gov/gjt or on our
